Privacy notice
Last updated: 5 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information I collect through this website, why, and what rights you have. I keep it short because I collect very little.
Who I am
Roamie Data Works is the trading name of [owner's full name], a sole trader based in Birmingham. I am the controller of the personal information described here, which means I decide how it is used.
Contact me about anything in this notice:
- Email: [hello@roamiedataworks.co.uk]
- Post: [UK business address]
I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Registration number: [ICO registration number].
What I collect
- Contact form: your name, company, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message.
- Email: whatever you choose to include when you email me.
- Booking a call: the booking page is run by [Calendly or Cal.com]. It collects your name, email address, the time you pick and any answers you give.
- Website visits: my hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic technical details to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. I do not use these details to identify you.
This website sets no cookies, uses no tracking and does not record how you fill in the form. See the cookies page for details.
Why I use it, and the lawful basis
I use your details only to reply to your enquiry and, if you ask, to arrange and hold a call about your business.
The lawful basis is legitimate interests: it is in both our interests that I can reply to messages you send me. I only use the details you choose to give me, and only for that reply.
I do not send marketing, I do not run a newsletter, I do not sell your information, and I do not make automated decisions about you.
If you go on to become a client, I will give you separate information about how I handle data as part of that work.
Who else handles your information
I use a few trusted services to run this website and my business. They act as processors, which means they handle information only on my instructions.
| Service | What it does | Where data is held |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages) | Hosts this website and protects it from attacks | [Owner to confirm: global network, including the USA] |
| Formspree | Receives contact form messages and forwards them to my inbox | [Owner to confirm: e.g. USA] |
| [Email provider] | Stores my business email | [Owner to confirm] |
| [Calendly or Cal.com] | Runs my booking page | [Owner to confirm: e.g. USA] |
Where a service stores information outside the UK, I only use it if the transfer is protected by UK law, for example through the UK-US data bridge or the ICO's international data transfer agreement or addendum. [Owner to confirm the safeguard for each service.]
How long I keep it
I keep enquiries for [12 months after last contact], then delete them. If you become a client, I keep records for as long as the law requires for business and tax purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
- ask me to correct anything that is wrong
- ask me to delete your information
- object to me using your information, or ask me to restrict how I use it
To use any of these rights, email me. It is free, and I will reply within one month.
How to complain
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first by email or post. I will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and aim to put things right quickly.
If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
- Website: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
- Phone: 0303 123 1113
Changes to this notice
If I change how I use personal information, I will update this page and the date at the top.
